born in 1962 in biel/bienne, my curiosity for art and more particularly for painting goes back to my childhood, during which i regularly attended the studio of my uncle, who was a painter. scribbles and drawings accompanied my youth. painting imposed itself on me about thirty years ago, i mainly developed my art as a self-taught artist. my painting is a mix of different artistic influences, mixing elements from fine arts, applied arts, art brut, western and non-western art. casual and enthusiastic, i am unashamedly and guiltily in tune with the current events of my time, with a colourful, graphic and simplified style inspired by comics, children’s drawings and the culture of the suburbs of large cities. my favourite subjects are scenes from everyday life, snapshots collected during my wanderings, animals, strange characters, industrial objects. i have had the opportunity to exhibit my work in various local shops and in my studio. my only real large-scale exhibition was in 2003 at the clinique des tilleuls in biel/bienne. my other activities include mural paintings, production of small pieces of furniture made of painted wood and the creation of trophies. i currently work in my studio in nidau.
